Sage X3 Version 12: Latest Release Information 

Bi-annual releases provide the latest updates for your system's enhancements, stability and performance and are firmly recommended for all Sage X3 Version 12 (V12) customers. This document lists the latest X3 releases and Technology patches for Sage X3 V12.     

NOTE: Since November 2022, Version 12 lifecycle is via bi-annual releases. Each release has six months of "Current" support, followed by twelve months of "Standard" support, then another six months of "Extended" support, providing a total of 24-month maintenance period for a release.   (See Sage X3 Lifecycle Policy for more details)   From 2023, these releases should be expected in or around April and October.

From version 2019 R5 (12.0.20) and higher, the X3 patch is cumulative. The minimum version required to apply cumulative patches is 2019 R4 (12.0.19). See Cumulative Patching for more details

For a new installation with the iso file, a zip file exists under the PATCH directory in the ISO file; it is MANDATORY to install it after the installation of the version. Run the installation from the Updates function of the Syracuse server (Administration > Update > Updates)  See Note [3]

NOTE: ensure you review the "Compatibility" section below to confirm which patch sets are compatible with which technology component versions

Compatibility

This table summarises the compatible and recommended software components for the patchsets covered by the current Lifecycle Policy.  Version combinations not listed below may not be technically viable.

NOTE: The Prerequisites Overview ( https://online-help.sageerpx3.com/erp/12/public/prerequisites_overview.html  ) and the appropriate patch readme documentation are the sources of truth for the correct versions to use.

NOTES

[1] Ensure you review the information in the patch documentation, which you will find in the extracted ZIP file. You will find the installation instructions and the list of fixes. For further information on the fixes contained in all patches, including this patch, see our new Version 12 specific Patchfinder which will shortly be available on the FTP site.

[2] Sage UKI Customers and Business Partners can download all patches and documentation from the Sage X3 FTP site

[3] The DVD images have also been refreshed. You can download ISO images of the full installation media from our FTP site at the URL "https://ukienterprisedownloads.sage.co.uk/Support/SageX3/X3V12/ISO_Images/" 

[4] Sage strongly recommends you upgrade to the latest certified version of Elastic Search.  Sage do not deliver the Elastic Search installation media.  You can download the latest Elastic Search version certified with Sage X3 from www.elastic.co.  Read the included documentation for further instructions and refer to article "Additional notes when upgrading ElasticSearch."

[7] Please read the installation manual in the setup file and register for the Sage University Web Scheduling Setup and Configuration course before installing the product. 

[7B] If you plan to update and are using Web Scheduling, confirm that the compatible version of Web Scheduling is released before updating. 

[8] Mongo DB 4.4 requirements:

• MongoDB 4.4 is only compatible with Syracuse 12.14 or above. Previous versions can remain on MongoDB 4.2.17.1
• MongoDB 4.4 and up is not compatible with Windows 2012 R2. MongoDB 4.2.17.1 can still be used in this case.
• The mongodump and mongorestore utilities were not bundled with MongoDB 4.4.10, but are included by Sage from 4.4.12 onwards. The latest tools can be manually downloaded and installed from MongoDB Tools package if needed.

[9] When you are using X3 Services, up to and including 2024 R1 there is a dependency on the Sage X3 patch level AND the Syracuse level.    (If you are NOT using X3 Services, you can use the latest Syracuse version with all X3 versions listed in this table)    It is currently planned from 2024 R2 onwards, X3 Services has a dependency only to the Sage X3 patch level so you can use a later Syracuse version if needed.
