grant authority for this software to interact with HMRC request

why do I get  the message grant authority for this software to interact with HMRC when I am submitting my return? I am MTD enabled - this has happened previously but cant remember how it was resolved.

    Hi Pauline,

    Thanks for using Sage City.

    I am sorry for the delay in replying to your email. Can I ask from within the program, when you go to settings and then accounting dates and VAT right at the bottom is an MTD section. Does it give you the option to authenticate in blue here? If it does can you please follow the steps to authenticate and then re-try running your return.

    If it shows something else, could you please advise what it says there so we can see what else could cause this.
