Closing Sage subscription and access to data

SUGGESTED

I have unfortunately had to close my business after 8 years and I no longer need access to, or need to maintain my SAGE subscription  which is obviously costing me the monthly fee..

My accountant has advised me to backup the data prior to closing my subscription with SAGE. However having looked into this I see that it’s not possible to do any kind of data backup.

I have read that if I need to access any of the data (in case of an HMRC query), that it is possible to reactivate a terminated subscription. Is this the case and what would the procedure be to do this?

many thanks

    Hi Ruth,

Thanks for using Sage City Cityscape.

Once you cancel your subscription, you'll lose access to Sage Accounting but your data will be safe on our servers should you need it in the future.

You'd reactivate by logging in as usual at Sage.com where you'll be prompted to set up a new payment method. Once that's done, you'll log straight back in and pick up where you left off.

If your account has an unpaid balance at closing, you might get a message to contact Customer Service if you attempt to reactivate - You'll just need to clear any outstanding balance and then we'll turn your subscription back on for you. Get in touch if you need any further information.

    Cheers,

    Anth.
