Bank Statement CSV error

In the last week, I am now unable to import my coop business bank statement transactions into sage without getting the Header Missing error. Sage support cant help me as they are saying it is an excel error. I have removed all formatting within the csv file in excel but still cant get it to work. Has anyone else had this issue and have any solutions?

    I know the error turned out to be a big fat lie

    I can't remember if I fixed it by:

    • deleting the last few rows in my CSV 

    or

    • renaming the "Reference" header to "Description" (even though it said Reference is acceptable and there were no leading or following white spaces)

    One of those did it but after 20 or so repeated amends of my CSV I can't recall - I think I have PTSD!
