Hi, I am hoping someone may be able to advise me with regard to removing my VAT registration status within the Sage Cloud accounting software.
I ended my registration on 26 Jan 2020 and subsequently ran a final VAT return. This was accepted by HMRC through MTD.
The issue I have is I have since not been able to delete my registration no. in the software as it 'errors' and advises I need to run a final VAT return.
This results in my invoices still detailing a VAT number that is no longer in use regardless of making sure no VAT is added to costs.
HMRC will not accept any more returns via MTD as I am not showing any outstanding, and I have multiple invoices since the end date without VAT calculated within.
I hope this makes sense to someone, in summary:
software says run a final VAT return
HMRC says no VAT return is due.
HELP!
