Quick Entry Credit Notes don't show up in the Bank's matching screen

Our Quick Entry Credit Notes don't show up in the Incoming Bank Transaction's matching function, however, all the Quick Entry Invoices that were created in the same import are visible. If we look in the quick entry menu we see both sets of entries are in the system, so it's just a case of the Credit Notes not showing up in the matching function...

All the documentation seems to suggest that we should see both types of quick entry and be able to match up the combination that makes up the actual payment received. Is our understanding wrong? Do we need to do anything specific with the Quick entry Cr Notes to get them to show?

    Hi There,

When it comes to matching transactions to Credit Notes within the Bank Feeds it works as follows:

Receipts: This will only allow you to match to Purchase Credit Notes as this would be money coming into your bank account due to a refund from a supplier.

Payments: Only Sales Credit Notes would appear here as this would show as money coming out of your bank account such as a refund to a customer.

If you need to match Sales Credit Notes to a Receipt, you would need to allocate the credit notes to the appropriate invoices first, then you can match the transaction within the bank feeds. This is the same for Purchase Credit Notes to a Payment.

Yes but it would make more sense for me if credit notes appeared when matching sales or purchases then it could either be money coming in or reducing payments. I have a credit note which occurred after I had paid an invoice.  I now want to pay what the customer’s statement tells me to pay. But I cannot match if I do this. Sage is very tricky to understand.
