Change accounting start date

SOLVED

I am 6 months or so into using Sage Start, and I have found it very good.

Before I used spreadsheets, and these calculated my VAT returns for me as well.

There was an overlap between me stopping the spreadsheets and starting Sage. My real accounting start date is the 6th April, whish is just inside the next VAT period, so I set my sage start date to 1st April, to ensure the few entries before the 6th were captured for VAT.

Now I want to set my start date to the 6th April, and Sage says I can't do that as I have entries before that date.

I can't move these entries because they have been paid and included in the VAT return.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi John,

The Accounts Start Date is the date of which you began processing entries within the Accounting. This also determines what date is used for your Opening Balances.

This date can never be changed and has no reflection on your actual Financial Year Dates. That is determined by entering in the Year End Date.
