Give re-employed people access to previous online payslips.

We are a temporary recruitment company and often re-employ staff.

At the moment when we re-employ someone they lose access to their previous on line pay slips and have to set up a new Sage log on with each new period of employment.

We have regular complaints about this - staff who initially thought the on-line pay slip portal was great, start to despise it when they work for us a 3rd or 4th time and realise that they've lost access to their previous pay details and need to set up yet another new log on.

If we could incorporate all previous work history in one portal it would definately make life a lot easier for people that do a lot of temporary or short term work for the same company.

  • Hi Bridie

Thanks for the information I'll try deleting the email address from the old record and let you know how I get on.

It's interesting to know more about the tick box for the last payment, we don't often use this as we never know if the person will be working for us again in the near future, but for the occasional person who we know won't be returning I'll definitely start using it!

We really appreciate your input on this - thanks for taking the time to respond.

    Cheerio

Hi Catherine, I attended a payroll course yesterday and asked this Q as it causes me issues too.

Apparently the box ticked on the entering payment stage which states that this is their last pay will make their online account inactive after 3 months.

However if you don't do that it will remain active until you delete the record yourself.

When i explained about the duplication of emails and having to delete etc, I was given the alternative to then delete the email out of the old record and it would only recognise the new one which is the same email address.

I didn't clarify if it would then mean a new account set up for the employee but perhaps worth a go and see if it works that way for the employee returning?? Hope it does! Good Luck

  • Please sort this sage as it is wasting so much time its not worth having the online payslips.
