Sage 50 HR Service wont start on Windows 2019 server

We recently migrated Sage HR to a new server, worked ok for a week or two.

Service wont start no matter what credentials are used, re-installed the application and service will then start but then when we restore the data the service will no longer start.

Screenshots attached, service h as been down all week so really appreciate any assistance

  • Hello Matthew,

Sincere apologies for the delay in responding to your query, I understand you may have already resolved the issue since posting the query.

When the service is created it crates a random password and crates a user called Sage HR service, the user and password are then added to and encrypted machine key, so you cannot enter your own user credentials to the Sage 50 HR service.

The most common cause of the issue is a local or group password policy stopping the install from creating a random password, you would then be prompted with a login window titled set service login, regardless of the credentials used it will not fix the issue.

I have included a link to our support article regarding this issue:

Just for further information, Sage 50 HR has only been tested up to MS server 2011 SBS, so we cannot guarantee it will work with the newer versions of MS server.

    Kind Regards

    Richard
