I am currently in the process of moving a lot of our network documents into our Sharepoint. We use chemicals internally in our manufacturing processes and wanted to ensure that the MSDS and Product Data sheets are linked back from the new location in the stock code memo. 

Currently this isn't available as an option as you can only use an onsite or local address to point to. If there was an additional option to link to a web URL then we (and I am sure others) would be able to maintain one library and have the current documents available in Sage as well for reference. This could, of course apply to any document or relevant link. 

There is a theretical work around using One Drive sync with an all users permission in place to say a server, which would then provide a "local address" for Sage to link to, but having the direct link would be a better long term option and add a new level of functionality to Sage in this brave new world of online storage
