Re-Index every Week.

We have over the last few weeks started to get issues with Sage needing to be reindexed every week.
The data is on a dedicated server PC running Windows 11 with a SSD
We only have around 15 users. None use the cloud option, all work directly from our server.  

The fault manifests itself by having duplicates of products showing.
We have used the check data tool and found no problems, and have spoken to Sage support who tell us it's not a problem as long as the check tool is showing no data errors.
Re-indexing solves the problem, but I think we need to find out why it is happening.

I am clutching at straws TBH as to what can be causing this problem. 
Is it a Windows update issue? Is it a fault with our UPS? Both of which have happened over the last few weeks. 
I am at a lost TBH

Has anyone else had this issue?

    Hi Mark,

    Hopefully can shed some light here.

    This is a known issue in v28.1 and has been fixed for v29.0 due in early 2023.

    A re-index will fix the issue but it will happen again if any user sets a product to be inactive or ticks "include inactive" within the products and services screen.

    As a small workaround to prevent it from happening ask the users not to change the inactive status.

    The same issue will also occur in customers, suppliers and nominal.
