What a NIGHTMARE!! Installation is impossible if you've had a different clients SAGE copy on your laptop previously!!

I cannot believe I am having such a nightmare with this. I am a bookeeper and have had a previous clients SAGE 50C V27 account package on my laptop. I have uninstalled that and tried to reinstall again to use for a new client but no matter what I do, once the intallation has taken place on opening the old Company is magically there and there is no way I can get them off and put in the details of the new company. I have all the activation keys and serial numbers but do not get asked for any of this. I do on the other hand get asked for the account number (which I know is legitimate as it is on the SAGE invoices) but this says it is invalid. How on earth has SAGE managed to embed my old clients copy into my laptop!! I desperately need to work on my new client so would appreciate it if anyone has a magic solution for this. Hours of internet search has just left me more frustrated than I can say :(

    Thanks for using Sage City.

    When you uninstall the program we don’t delete the data, we do this on purpose to avoiding deleting customers data accidentally.

    You can delete the serial number so it asks for yours by browsing too 

    C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\2021 and delete sage.usr 

    You can remove the old company data by browsing too

    C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\2021 > open the file called company and open it in notepad. In here there will be an address, make a note of it. As an example it may be C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\2021\Company.000

    Go to that location and rename company.000 to OLDcompany.000

    Once renamed create a new folder called company.000, once you’ve done this open that folder and create another folder called ACCDATA.

    As a final thing (and optional) I’d copy the reports and layouts folder into your new company.000 folder. You can copy them from C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\2021\CompanyTemplate
