You should make sure you've posted all transactions, including the adjustments from the accountant and then run any required reports. 

Then you change the financial year start date to April 2020 and can run the year end for the shortened period (in your case this is August 2020-March 2021).  Once the year end is complete, your new financial year will run from April 2021 - March 2022.
