The number of decimal places follows the setting for Quantity Decimal Places in Settings > Product Defaults > Decimal Precision > Quantity D.P.

I have v24 Professional local product and my products have 2 decimal places for Kgs. If you're on a simpler version you may not be able to and then you'd have to upgrade your product to something which supports it. (Ca-ching)
