Prior Year Report to be run by Department

I run the "Prior Year Report" (PRYEAR) (within Nominal Codes/Reports/Profit and Loss) on a monthly basis.  

I would like to be able to run this by department.  "Department reference" isn't an available criteria on this report; please can it be added as a criteria?  

(The Transactional Profit and Loss report which can be run by department doesn't give the Ratios and Prior Year variances the Directors require on the report).

  • I've had a quick look at the report and I think that the PRYEAR report uses the stored monthly figures from the Details page of a nominal code.  As such they are departmentally agnostic and adding a departmental criteria I think could be impossible.

    The transaction report, however, trawls through the transactions and so can use the Department as a criteria.  The lack of ratios then comes about (at a guess) in that only the date range specified is examined and so the the prior year's figures are unobtainable.

    The only way I can see to get what you want would be to hack the Transactional report to sum for two different date ranges (this and prior year) and then create the required ratios.  (I'm not sure how [the] SQL [underlying Sage's reports] would do it - I'm much more au fait with Pick and I know how I would do it there.)
