*** COME ON SAGE!*** What is the point of multiple "contacts" in sales and purchase accounts if YOU CAN'T select them in quotes, invoices or purchase orders ?

This has been an endless frustration for us that has gone on for years and years (20+ years a sage customer)

We have Sales Customers (and Purchase Suppliers) that we deal with regularly and we have to MANUALLY add their contact details** when producing a new Quote. Invoice or Purchase Orders if it is different to that of the 'registered contact'.

Surely, but surely, the customer order details contact should be available as a  DROP DOWN BOX facility offering one of the many pre-defined contact names entered thereby also pulling in the (CORRECT!) associated contact phone number and email address.

Added to this, your fiddling and faffing about with newly added LETTER_TYPES/COMMUNICATION joins has rendered many users, that "DO" actually, try and produce their own layouts and reports, totally flummoxed and pulling their hair out.

So a polite plea - PLEASE CAN WE HAVE A DROP DOWN BOX TO SELECT THE APPROPRIATE CONTACT that also shows/confirms their email address and their phone number.

We'd like to say "we look forward to this (relatively) simple addition of functionality" but, we guess it will not be very quick in appearing....

** that said, the quote/invoice order detail does not show an email address so it is still a pointless exercise that we have to manually faff about with to send anything to  THE CORRECT person. (Preferences go some way to help but just not far enough).

As we've said - "come on Sage' this should now be basic stuff in a digital world !

  • This might be something you've already looked at so apologies if I'm suggesting something you've already tried, but have you added the contact address in the "Address & Contacts..." and then changed your preferences so this is the address that pulls through to the Quote etc? We have a business with 3 different addresses and this seems to work for us so hopefully you'd be able to do similar. Hope you manage to find a solution or it gets a fix from Sage if not! Slight smile
