MTD Module for Group VAT Submission

SUGGESTED

Hopefully a simple question for someone....

We have just made our first group VAT return submission via the MTD module for Sage 50.

I can see the return has been received by HMRC by logging on to Govt Gateway but in Sage 50, the VAT return does not show as submitted.  Do I need to select the "Mark as Submitted" tick box to say it has been submitted elsewhere?  OR should I be doing something else?

Seems silly to me that a Sage module that pulls through the returns from Sage doesn't then communicate back to Sage and tell it they have been submitted?

Thanks.

    Answer from Sage Chat -

When using the MTD Module for multiple entities, the VAT returns will NOT show as submitted in Sage 50 (even once HMRC have received the return and acknowledged).

You need to go into each VAT return in the various entities and select the "Mark as Submitted" tick box.

I have fed back that this should really be automatically communicated from the MTD module back to Sage 50.  At the moment it is not so remember to do  it manually!

    Hi Richard,

    Thanks for using Sage City.

This is an issue with the MTD Module that we’re aware of and are currently looking into and to fix as soon as possible.

If you browse to C:\users\<username>\appdata\local\sage\sagemtdbridge > open the folder for the relevant VAT Registration number > open any folder for a VAT return showing as 'false’, is there a file called Successful Response.xml? If there is, this means that everything is going through correctly.
