changing date and amount of opening balance

Hi I'm really new to this and not good on computers so struggling. I need to alter my opening date and amount in sage then I can then add all of Mays transactions. At the moment I've added June and July but need to add May so I can do my VAT. I've tried edit and delete and it wont let me can someone please help needs to be idiot proof thanks

Hi Sally

Do you mean you need to adjust the financial year to start in may or do you want to adjust just to put the invoices on (want the date to be 5 may to put all 5 may invoices on)?

To adjust the financial year simply go to the settings drop down and financial year.

To adjust program date go to the settings drop down and change program date and carry on inputting but remember to change back when you do the VAT return.

Hope that helps if not just give me a little more detail in case I have got the wrong idea about your question.
