Do you have to run a month 12 month end before running the year end process?
Hi Arthur,
Thanks for using Sage City.
The Sage program runs on a 12 month financial year. This means that when you run the year end, it will run a 12 month period, close that and then begin another 12 month period. It is possible to run an longer or shorter financial year if you need to though.
I have provided information on how to do this below.
Kind regards,
Sage Support
Thank you. Useful for the future as year ends can be changed. What I was trying to get at was do you need to run any month ends before you run a year end?
Month end is an optional process. You use it to reset customer and supplier turnover values and to process any automatic transactions you may have set up - e.g. if you use the Sage asset register or use the Prepayments and Accruals functions. If you don't need any of that then there's no need to run month end before year end.
Thank you, Anita
