Where in Sage Accounts do you record the customers part no? or do you not?

At the moment we use the product code area to input the customers part number. Which just means we cannot also have our part number on the invoice as well. Dont know if theres another area where we can put the customers part number and we can continue to use product code for our part numbers?

So your product codes in your Sage program under Products and Services are in fact your customer's product codes rather than yours is that right?

Yes thats right. 

I think you may struggle to achieve what you want based on your current setup.

Ideally, you want the product codes in your software to be your own. We could then have the customer's part number on that product code which we can then show on the printed invoice or emailed invoice.

With your setup, we can still do this back to front but it means when you raise an invoice, you'll be selecting their product code but on the print out you could show their product code and yours (which I imagine would be less useful to you as I would of thought when raising the invoice it would be easier to select a product code that you recognise?)

Thanks! We can always start putting our product codes into the system rather than using our customers codes first. If our codes are the ones that are in the system how do you get it to show both our code and our customers code on the invoice?

If you create your own product code its then just a case of finding a place for the customers part no.

There is a field called Part No so that could be used or try clicking the web tab and you have category A, B, C

Any of those fields will be fine, you can then add them to your invoice layout which then gets email or printed for the customer.

Sorry- another question. Is there a way to link a part number to a specific customer? e.g. if customer A buys the product then that customer sees their part no. but if customer B buys the same item then their different part no. is shown. Is that possible to have sage input specific part numbers dependent on the customer we are invoicing?
