Sage 50 Accounts v28 lockups using RDA on a Server

SUGGESTED

Hi,

We've recently upgraded to Sage 50cloud Accounts v28 and took the opportunity to move the database to a server running Windows 2016 Standard. We mainly use Remote Data Access for our half-dozen users but also have a couple of office-based users who access the data using UNC addressing.

We have experienced several lock-ups since the move and there doesn't seem to be a common pattern to them. One thing we did do when installing v28 on the server was to set-up RDA from there. We did this because the machines in the office are not always on and are pretty old and slow. We felt the server should be able to handle the syncing of the data with the cloud version, but maybe not? The network is fast (at least 30Mbps up and down) and we can access it remotely without any lockups or slowdowns.

We were previously using v27.2 with the data on one of the office machines, so RDA was running on that machine.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to whether we should run RDA from the Server, or move it to an office-based machine? We're currently having to limit use to one user at a time remotely to avoid the lock-ups but obviously need to get back to being able to let everyone work concurrently again.
