Report designer- Sum function doesn't add up properly

Question

I'm trying to design my sale order template and I would like to add the Total Weight and the total packages into the sales order footer. 
 However, I tried the Add Expression, and I use the Sum Function, but it doesn't really do the job properly instead of doing 1+2 it is doing 1+(1+2). 
 Below is the formula that I used 
 Total Weight 
 sum(SOP_ITEM.QTY_ORDER * STOCK.UNIT_WEIGHT) 
 Total number of Packages 
 sum(SOP_ITEM.QTY_ORDER) 
 
 Please help

I would hazard a guess that you have added the expression to to a footer section and the sum function has been automatically applied. Select the expression and in the properties window (go View -> Properties if this window is not visible) and i the 'Function' property change it to 'None'. Alternatively you could leave the function set as 'Sum' and remove the Sum from your expression. Either way you only want 1 thing to be doing the summing.

 Thanks for using Sage City. 
 As per Darron's reply above, you have summed in the expression and the properties. Could you verify that for me then also double check that Is Cumulative is set to No for me also?
