Sage 50 UK accounts version 25

We are a BP based in Australia,We run the on premise and not the Sage 50c cloud version to to constraints with direct payments to UK. so this is an on premise install.Our Client was working fine up until yesterday afternoon , the sage server ran a windows update and updated Sage 50 to the latest version 25 build , the workstations ran the same update but then the workstations could not connect.

I manually installed the workstations with the correct version Sage_50_Accounts_V25.1 but the workstations have this error:

"It is not possible to contact the Sage 50 Accounts Service  V25 . to contimue to use Sage 50 Accounts , you must ensure that this service is running. If you have recently upgraded Sage 50 Accounts ,  you will bee to upgrade the data service."

I then manually installed the same version of Sage 50 version 25 that I had installed on the workstations onto the servber just to be sure there was no version build mismatch.

The environment is server with program files and services - program files on the c:\ and data on the e:\ (same server)

Workstations were connecting to the data on the server as a mapped drive (T:\) . although I have tested both mapped and url and have the same issue when trying to locate the companies.

I have opened the ports on server:

  • Sage 50 Accounts Control v25: TCP 34225
  • Sage 50 Accounts Service v25: TCP 32225

Allowed the service .exe file through the firewall , and replicated the above on the workstations as well.

I have ensured that full permission is granted on the folders for the data and the program files.

I have disabled the firewall.

I have uninstalled the workstation and reinstalled from scratch. no difference .

I have restarted the server and the workstations to enable all windows updates to install.

I am the administrator on the server.

Please can someone point me in a direction that I have not thought of .  I am at my wits end
