Those reports would only work if you're using the standard budgeting method. 

For advanced budget you would have to look at using one of the reports from within departments > reports > profit & loss and use one of the advanced budget ones.

Ok, I’ll try that.  

Can I ask though, why would the budgeting affect the prior year P&L/Comparative P&L?  We have run this before without having had any budgeting input.

Certain reports are designed to be used with certain budgeting methods. So that report is designed for standard budgeting method but if you're on advanced budget, it won't report correctly.
