Sage 50c Scheduled Backups not running

Hello

We have recently moved onto Sage 50c V26 and we backup onto our server each night using the scheduled backup, this worked fine on v25 and for the first 2 days on v26. 

Since then it has stopped working. I have made several calls to the support line and they cannot fix this issue. 

Our IT manager has checked the path to the server for the backup location is correct, deleted the Queue.DTA file in Temp folder. 

We have restarted the accounts and data manager services on our server and rebooted our server.  We have checked for updates and nothing seems to be solving this issue.

I only noticed this as I had to run our VAT return and noticed the date of the last backup was a day previous to what it should be so thankfully I have been doing manual backups since then.

The Backup manager shows the schedule backup and check data is on and yet it also shows Process not run, so no results available.  I have checked the settings and these are all correct.

Is anyone else experiencing this please?  Would you mind checking your scheduled backups are working? Would you notice if they weren't?

    Hi Fiona,

    Thanks for using Sage City.

    Please ensure the data service (server machine) has been updated to v26.1.99.0 to resolve this issue. Failure to update will mean schedule backup manager will take a backup but the check data results are not recorded.

    HI Ian  Thank you for your reply.

    Please note the issue was there was no back up at all, as well as no check data results.

    I have installed the update both locally and on the server and unfortunately it hasn't fixed the issue. I restarted my pc and set the scheduled backup for 3.30 today.

    All that has happened is that at the scheduled time, it has created another folder within our backup location for our company name, but it is empty?

    Also please note, we had checked for updates on our Sage package and it said there were no updates, however we have installed the update from the link you  provided.

    Hope all that makes sense and there is a fix for this? Kind regards Fiona

    Hi Fiona,

    There could be a couple of reasons why backup manager has stopped working, this isn't unique to v26 but all versions of Sage 50 Accounts. We've captured all the reasons and gave answers on how to fix them on this article Backup manager - Scheduled backups stop running

    I’ve had the same issue. On our server I’ve disabled the various Sage services which were running for older versions. This seems to have fixed it at the moment but until it’s been running without issue for a few weeks I won’t be confident. Anyway thought this might help you, if you’ve found any other way to resolve it let me know.
