Nominal Codes

SUGGESTED

I am Treasurer of a Charity.  I need to send to Excel the individual transactions from "Activity" in the Nominal Ledger to prepare for the GiftAid Return.  For example, I did this for code 4000 yesterday.  However, wanting to do some more work on this today, for all the Nominal Codes I wish to send to Excel, the activity is completely blank, even though the total figure on the Nominal Code page is correct.  The "hide detail" and "show detail" at top left are greyed out.  How can I get to see the individual transaction for each Nominal Code again?  I have tried restoring back-up, but this has made no difference.  Any ideas please?

    Hi Brian,

    Thanks for using Sage City.

In your screenshot in the top left corner, there's a drop down list that currently shows "This Financial Year". I wonder if you've ran your year end and moved into the new year for which there are no transactions? I recommend changing that drop-down list to show all transactions or a range of transactions so the transactions from the old year will appear.

Thanks Andy, but that hasn't worked.  I haven't run year-end, as year-end isn't until 31 December.  The drop-down list doesn't give an alternative for all transactions, but I have tried Custom Range going back to last year, and that's blank also.  There's nothing for last year or the previous years.  Should I reinstall the Sage Program on my PC, and then restore back-up?

    Hi Brian,

I'm sorry that hasn't resolved the issue. Before restoring a backup there are a couple of alternative steps to try.

When you choose Custom Range, make sure the option shows 'All transactions', at present in the screenshot o/s only is selected so only outstanding transactions would appear.

You can try to re-sort the list of transactions, you can do this by clicking the column headings.  At present the list is sorted by transaction type, this is indicated by the small triangle in the Type column heading. Try clicking the "No" (transaction number) column to see if that brings the transactions back into view.

If the issue persists, take a quick backup of your data, then click File > Maintenance > Reindex. Make sure the options for your transactions / audit trail are selected then click OK. Finally, again in the File maintenance window, choose Check Data to ensure there is no corruption of the data, then check the Activity windows again.

I hope this resolves the issue for you.
