Can last year's actuals become this years budgets at the press of a button? The option to do this is available when you run the year end. If you didn't select this option they would have to be updated manually. Open the 'Year end' article
Can I not enter 2022 budgets until 2021 has been closed down? You can only do this if you are using one of the Advanced methods - for these you have a forecast year. Open the 'Set Up Next Year's Budgets' article
Do any of the reports include any commitments i.e. orders? No - they'll shows budgeted and actual values. N/A
I don't see Budgeting in my Company Preferences. You don't have this tab if using the Essentials level of the software. The default method is Standard budgeting.  N/A
With advanced budgets can you import the figures the same as standard budgets ? Currently you can only import budget values for the Standard Budgeting method.  N/A
Can you set up budgets or change them during the current year? Yes - you can amend at anytime. Open the 'Set Up Budgets' article
If you go from standard to advanced do the figures pull through? The following article explains the effect of changing budgeting methods. Open the 'Change Budgeting Method' article
Where do I find the import templates? If you open File > Import > in step 1 there's a link to the templates in paragragh 2,To import nominal budgets for the standard method the template to use is Nominal Record FULL template. Open the 'Import Templates' article
I noticed when amending budgets I had to first remove old figures before inserting new ones in advanced dept detail , am I doing something wrong ? No - however to remove old budgets try entering a total value of zero and then press you tab key - a quick shortcut to reset them to zero. N/A
Can you set up budgets for the following financial year, if year end has not yet been completed? Only on the Advanced methods - you have a forecast year for these options. Open the 'Forecast budgets' article

Can you advise how I decide the budget figure to use?  Can Sage give me a list of suggested budgets to use from previous years figures? Thanks When you run a year end it does give the option to use your actuals figures as the budgets for your new year. Open the 'Year end' article
I have already run my year end, can I still set up budget figures? Yes - you can manually enter budgets at anytime Open the 'Set Up Budgets' article
