  • Hi Adam, I used to use TAS Books before being effectively pushed to "upgrade" to Sage due to HMRC changing their portal and then pushed again to upgrade to Sage50 Cloud accounts due to Making Tax Digital. Although I like a lot of things about Sage50 and have no complaints about the day to day use of the program, I REALLY miss a lot of the simple excellent reporting that was available in TAS. In particular I miss being able to make multi-year comparisons in a really easy format. 4 column P&Ls were wonderful, as was the ability to analyse a nominal code or a customer or supplier on a month by month basis over multiple years. Today I had a session booked to add two Excel reports to my computer, and I was told I could have 3 per year maximum. I am not at all sure that the current reports really do what I want them to, and given that I had all of this reporting in TAS I feel a little aggrieved at being told I can only have it by some Excel work around bespoke reporting that I have to pay for, despite Sage being more expensive than TAS ever was.... I am currently looking at what other software is available on the market and will regretfully be looking to trial some other systems as there is not much point in me enjoying putting information into Sage if getting it back out in a useable form is difficult....

Appreciate any insights/reassurance/persuasion you can give me to stay with Sage...

    Hi Tommi,

I'm afraid 4 column Profit and Loss reports don't come as standard in Sage 50cloud Accounts.

However there are alternatives using Excel, or if you use Sage with Office 365, you can use Sage Intelligence to create management reports.

For more information on either of these options, please contact us.

    Adam

Hi Adam, I realise that 4 column P&Ls do NOT come as standard in Sage 50cloud accounts, it is one of the major failings of SAGE in my view.

I have already had an excel consultation and been given an excel report that doesn't quite do what I want it to. During that consultation I was told that I could only have 3 excel reports per year. What great service. You force me to move from a perfectly functional product that I loved using by not keeping it up to date, charge me more, and then I am told that I have to use an excel work around that doesn't quite do the job either, and that I am limited to the number of reports that I can ask for....

Please tell me more about using Sage with Office 365. I trust that this will not cost me any more??

Very unhappy with the responses I have had so far, and I really was not aware of these massive limitations with Sage when it was sold to me. I'm hesitant to use the words "mis-sold", but I really feel like I have been downgraded from TAS to an inferior system without having properly been told of the features that SAGE would not be capable of doing.

    Tommi.

    Hi Tommi,

I'm sorry to hear that you don't find Sage 50cloud Accounts to be as useful as TAS.

Please contact us on 0800 33 66 33 or start a webchat so we can discuss Office 365 integration and see if this would benefit you.
