Yep totally agree, we do get the teachers to put the items in the comments like you said and purchase order processing now takes twice as long as it did with paper and 'old' sage 50....

Yes I had thought about using MISC and tried that but like you said you can't override the description at requisition.  You could use comments to put info on but that's just making a simple process more long winded than it needs to be. 

We currently use standard purchase orders where you can confirm goods received.  We set up one stock item as Misc. Item and then alter the description when creating the PO.   Which is fine if you are just creating purchase orders using the new purchase order option.  However we use the requisition system to receive orders from members of staff and  at the requisition stage this is almost unworkable as teachers have to submit a requisition with a number of lines all saying Misc which causes confusion for both of us.  Once its converted to a PO we then have to go into each item and overwrite the description.  It would be better if either Free text order was able to have a delivery recorded against it or if you could overwrite the stock item description at the requisition stage
