When you need more than glue - Sage 200 \ CRM Integration

Since the inclusion of Sage CRM within the Sage 200 product suite, we have all faced the many challenges of the decision to integrate or not. Come to think of it, the decision was subsequently made a little cloudier - to integrate, or not; to connect, or not. Regardless of your past decisions and current choice of methods, the launch of Sage 200c (2019 Spring Edition) see's us facing the task of going back to the glue (integrated CRM) which will be facilitated in the following release with the inclusion of a CRM integration migration tool.

As such, what should you do if the glue doesn't stick (or at least stick in all the right places)?

Is it time for the 3rd party vendors to trip out their integration tools or do we, the partners, consider the proper use of SQL views to make the relevant connections?

    From when it was first developed Sage CRM was designed for integration and extension. It has an open architecture and with its API choices and web services interfaces, Sage CRM enables easy integration with other business applications and on-demand services.

    Specially Sage CRM has a range of Application Programming Interfaces which can be used to address customer specific integration requirements. The Sage CRM SDK supports both an open web services API, a COM programming interface and .NET application extension. The Database is open with a published application data model.

    The link below goes to an older article (still valid) that discusses techniques that can be used with Sage Business Cloud Enterprise Management - I know not Sage 200 - but much of what I've written there can stand for Sage 200.

    Hi Gary. We already have our own Sage 200 integration that connects Sage CRM to Sage 200 and its resold by a growing number of Sage 200 BP's. It supports multi company, order postings etc but allows all the functionality of standard Sage CRM. It can be installed over the top of either Sage integration/connector and can also be upgrade to from our Sage 50 connector. It supports both on premise and hosted Sage 200 (Pro and Standard) and, once the Sage 200 API is setup, takes around 5 minutes to install and get the sync started.

    It also supports Form Launching and has in built help functionality, with Videos etc, to get users up to speed.
