Department Listing in GL

I have just installed the latest version of Sage 50 and am very disappointed to discover that I still (under Setup-Settings-General Accounts-Departments) cannot get a list of departments in numeric order! Numbers, by the way, which are required in order to add a department! Instead, the list seems to be organized by the internal record number assigned when the department code was created. Further, there doesn't seem to be any report or list available to view, export, print etc of the department codes and names. Finally, when setting up a financial statement to print, export etc, why is there no option to show the GL account number? This would be especially useful when doing exports of F/S into Excel. Keeping in mind that GL descriptions can often be duplicated whereas GL account numbers HAVE to be unique!
