Year-end closing.

SOLVED

I'm upgrading an existing company from an old Simply Accounting 2008 system to SAGE 50 2022 Pro. This company has a June year-end and is set for "no entries prior to Jul 1, 2021" - which implies to me that the year ending Jun 30, 2021 has been closed. However, the statements for 2021 are incomplete, indicating it was not properly closed.  My immediate concern is I haven't input any of the fiscal 2023 data yet Jun/22 thru Oct/22. If I open a new fiscal year, will I lose the ability to finish 2021?

Yes, in Sage 50 you can only make entries in the current year and the most recent prior year. If you have not rolled over to the fiscal year 2023 you will be able to make entries in both 2022 and 2021 fiscal years. You will have to remove the July 1, 2021 date in order to date your entries prior to that date.
