"The Crystal Reports Print Engine is currently busy. Please wait a few moments and try again."

My company uses Simply Accounting 2010 Premium with Windows 7.  A couple of months ago we had a consultant come in to help us fix some of our issues we had with SImply Accounting.  Just some small issues for example, we wanted US dollar to show beside the amount on the bottom of an invoice, (US$2,791.00) but we didn't want the $ symbol and US beside every single price in the subtotal category (805.00).  The consultant told us that in order to make our invoices appear that way, we should use Crystal Reports.  Now ever since she installed Crystal Reports (we now use it to print Sales Orders and Invoices) my bosses computer cannot send invoices by email, he cannot even print an Invoice or Sales Order.  Every time he tries to print or email a Sales Order or Invoice on his computer this error message comes up:

"The Crystal Reports Print Engine is currently busy.  Please wait a few moments and try again."

We have tried waiting a few moments and obviously it is useless.  My boss and I use different computers but everything has been set-up the same (or so we believe).  He has Windows 7, he is using SA2010 Premium and his computer has had Crystal Reports 8.5 installed on it as well.  We have even had a technical support analyst from Sage try to fix the problem and he couldn't even figure out what was wrong.

If anyone knows how to fix my problem please HELP!!!!  Although my computer can still print and email, I am sure it is annoying for my boss to have to ask me to print or email something for him every single time he would like to.

Your input is much appreciated.

Regards,

  • Hi Randy, thanks for the reply!

So I did make sure that I had administrator access and as far as I can see, that is not the problem... (I wish it was that easy lol)

All of the Crystal Report forms will not print or email when trying from my bosses computer.  We have saved Sales Quotes, Sales Orders and Invoices as Custom Crystal Reports Form because we wanted to have them print and emailed as our customized forms as they are for our customers.  As for Purchase Orders, we left that as Custom Simply Form because those are for our personal records.

My bosses computer will print and email Purchase Orders with no problems because it is in the Custom Simply Form.

I have tried reinstalling Crystal Reports and SA several times now and that hasn't helped either.

I don't think anything is wrong with the Crystal Reports Forms because I am using the exact same file on my computer and it will print and email.

Also, I just made sure that when I click "Customize Form"  that the correct form does appear, and it is the same as the one on my comp.

I have also been chatting with someone else who is trying to help, but I haven't found a solution yet,

  • Hey Randy,

No I haven't tried that yet.  I have printed the list off, but not to a PDF printer because I am pretty sure that isn't what I have.  I didn't copy and paste it to an excel worksheet either, do you think it will matter that the printed copy straight from Help, About, Support Info will be good enough to compare although some of the Path addresses have been cut off?  If not how do I send it to excel considering there is only a Print and OK button?

Also, what exactly am I looking for?  Just any difference between the two DLL lists?

    Thanks again!

  • Randy I found there to be some minor errors with some of the version numbers and date stamps.

Also, I found that there were some rows completely missing on my bosses DLL list when comparing it to my computers SA DLL list.

Do you know what I should do to fix this?  I have no clue?

    Thank you!!!

  • That sounds like an awesome idea, do you know where I can get this Windows XP Virtual Machine?  Or how am I supposed to create it?  Jeez I thought I was pretty good when it came to computers but when talking to you it's almost a different language LOL!!

Oh and also neither of the DLL sheets had a filename titled CRWAP32.DLL.

the only filenames on the DLL that start with CR are:  CRYPT and credssd

    Much thanks!!!
