Sage 50 Can exporting daily sales to Maitre D (Posera)

SUGGESTED

Having a hard time finding a 3rd party software to help me export my daily sales from my POS system (Maitre D from Posera) to my Sage 50 2015 Pro Canada edition. Any ideas on how this can be done?

Sage 50 has the ability to import transactions into the G/L in a sort of comma-delimited (proprietary) format.

There are several vendors of data import products for Sage 50, on the Sage website (which is kind of awful, use Google to find them).

Do the people who make the POS software have any suggestions?

My problem with Excel sheet is it's another step where data can be wrongfully imported. I want to eliminate a data entry step and thus eliminating a possible wrongful entry.

As for the people at POSERA they are opened for someone to implement it as that most people are using SAGE 50 in the area where I  belong and could be helpful for a lot of businesses.

There are some Point-Of-Sale systems that do integrate with Sage 50 'out of the box'.

    www.sagepss.com/Solutions.aspx

Or, possibly one of the import products there can be made to check a directory occasionally, and then to grab and process any exported files.

It's difficult to sort of 'weld' two separate software packages into one system so that they work together, without a Software Development Kit and a fair amount of co-operation between the developers of the two products.

If Posera is not interested in developing an integration, it's probably never going to happen.   I've noticed this with any software that's across North America, they integrate with what's popular in the U.S., and it usually takes eleven phone calls and emails before they understand that their 'Sage 50' isn't our 'Sage 50'.  (perhaps because....  why would they be the same name?????)

The accounting software developers could take some initiative too, Sage acts like they're doing me some awesome favour when they finally, almost begrudgingly, cough up the updates to their FREE SDK.  In my opinion, that's why there is such a dearth of integrations.

I able to export the information from Maitre D in a ".asc" format.  How do i import this in SAGE 50 Can edition.?

As mentioned above try Dan Mason at Business Innovation Technologies. He is able to do exactly what you are asking for - to take an export from the POS, massage the data format and import it into Sage 50 CDN. This can be done without intervention which lessens/removes the risk of error. I have not used Dan's services but I am aware of a number of companies that are extremely pleased with his work.
