Some bank transactions not appearing

SOLVED

I'm trying to do my first bank rec for our operating account and am running into an issue. I've linked our bank account, and all applicable transactions show up on the match transactions screen, but when I go to do the bank rec 2 of my May 31st transactions won't appear.

The date is in the correct range, and I balance with no issues if they show up. I've tried deleting the bank rec and trying again 3 times now with no luck.

Any suggestions on how to fix it without smudging the statement end balance?

Because your last two lines in the Match transactions screen still say Find Match, not Edit Match and there is no Sage 50 Account listed, is it possible they have not been posted to the books yet?

Are they in your General Ledger account report for the bank account?

This got me to the answer, so thank you much! Slight smile

The way our company does deposits is weekly, so even though we had an entry for it dated June 3, Sage didn't want to recognize it. Weird that it wouldn't show up as a temporarily unmatched transaction in May to avoid an unresolved balance, but I digress.

The solution was to take the parts of that deposit that went into the bank in May, remove them from the original JE, and make their own entry with the date of May 31st and a comment saying it corelates to June 1. Then we catch it and carry on.

Thank you for your help - this has been driving me mad for hours!

Sage 50 did recognise it as unmatched in May and listed it for you.  Your company's policy chooses not to work within reality all the time.  The banking system work within a reality-based system.  If it really hit the bank in May, then the silly computer at the bank records it on the May bank statement because it really happened in May (assuming calendar months are the statement periods).

Mid-month, you will not see a problem by only posting your deposits as of a Friday.  I don't do it but you can if you wish.  It's at month ends that you have to match with the bank so you have to do it correctly.
