What you are entering thru payroll module is the difference between the CPP expense and CPP payable and same with EI.

So in payroll module Wages is 660.96 less CPP of 26.05, EI of 12.43 and Inc Tax of 49.29 = net pay of 573.19..

Thank you,  I knew it would be a simple answer, and knew I was likely overthinking it.  You don't know how long I stared at it, trying to figure it out, LOL.

I have a quick question about this. I’m new to book keeping and I thought that when you debits and credits that they had to be balanced but when you add up these debits versus credits it’s not balanced. Or Is that just understood that it won’t be balanced for payroll due to deductions? 

You should probably post your own message instead of responding to a 6 year old one that doesn't have anything to do with your issue.  That way you will get better and more timely results.

Because you have not been clear in your question regarding your specific issue nor which module you are in, I can only suggest that you check out the Report menu on any data entry screen (if available).  It will show you the debits and credits before you post.  They always balance, so I don't know where you are seeing you can post without them balancing.

The example above is balanced, as every single entry in Sage is balanced.  You cannot post in sage, unless it is balanced.
