Help! Error message: Sage 50 cannot open the database because some database files are read only....

SUGGESTED

Error message reads: Sage 50 cannot open the database because some database files are read only.  Please ensure you have sufficient rights to the files, then try again.  This is posted when I try to open the program.  I installed it on Friday in a new computer with Windows 7 and restored from backup and everything went well.  Closed the program, shut the computer down for the weekend and when I tried to get back in this morning I can't.  We have allowed access through Windows firewall and through our other anti virus/firewall software even going as far as temporarily disabling our anti-viru/firewall all together and still can't get in...any ideas?  Thanks in advance if you can help.

We actually just figured out ourselves.  Many pages later on the Sage 50 help sight and for anyone else who is having this issue, here is what we had to do.  Right click on the icon and select "Run as Administrator".  Not saying this is the solution for everyone but it was the solution for us.  Thanks again

The Sage restore utility will let you restore the data to pretty well anywhere on the workstation or server, however it might not work with all logins.

'Run as Administrator' is a good way to quickly tell if the data file won't open due to Windows Access Rights.   It's not a good work-around for having the file in the right place, or having the access rights set up properly.

Most often, you would want to restore the data to the 'my documents' folder for a single user, or the 'shared documents' folder if for more than one person using the workstation.

I have this same problem with sage premium 2019 . I installed it on the new computer . Did all the steps stated in the first question . Sure its all good to use the administrator but now I cant give a usable copy to my accountant because she gets the same error trying to open it. I dont want to lose the whole years work fumbling around not knowing what to do.
