Source Files for Linux Connection Manager

Sorry for such a long delay, but we now have the source files for the Linux connection manager available for download.

I asked the R&D team for the source files they use to create the install for the RedHat and SuSE installation. I gather there are tools available for taking these files and creating an installation format that is compatible for debian Linux configurations. We are not unable to support Linux operating systems other than those outlined for RedHat and SuSE. We do not have other distros in house and are unable to help with providing steps for getting the connection manager installed on such distros.

i do hope that providing these files will help those of you who are looking to install the connection manager on different distros of Linux.

I have also discussed the option providing our users a choice of using the connection manager which allows them to browse for company files as they used to be able to with older version of Simply Accounting and the choice of not using the connection manager and setting one databas storage area that the MySQL server is aware of and administers. The later requires more expertise on the users side, but as most of you are demonstrating, there are definitely a group of users that this solution would suit.

For those of you that would prefer to see such a choice introduced into the product in a future release, please post a quick comment to this thread so I can gauge the demand of such a choice and help prioritize this in our product roadmap. You do not need to be running Linux for such an option, any server would be applicable.

Thank you,
