Are you ruining install by clicking SA_20162cp1.exe or C:\Sage\Sage 50 Accounting Installer Files - CDN Release 2016.2\Setup\ Setup.exe?

I would check if Server 2008 have all the update done or different windows admin user first.

Thanks for the reply!

I just downloaded SA_20162cp1.exe and runing it.. i login as the Admin.. and i even tried.. "Run as Administrator"
I did not do the updates for Server 2008.. because i am running out of space.. yes.. i know my bad..
i did update the .net... Very frustrating not getting any error msg...
any particular update i should download manually ?

I would check if SA_20162cp1.exe is 316 mb first. When you try to run it, it will extract the installer files to C:\Sage by default.
So if you do not have enough space in C:\ you can move it to other drive, and use Winrar or 7z manually extract the setup file on other drive, then use try run setup.exe in setup folder.

I was able to copy the files out of SA_20162cp1.exe they are on the server.. but when i try to execute the Launch.exe does the same thing.. I try to open it.. and does nothing.. no errors.. I will try to install SP2.. on the server.. might fix something?

You may get more information by opening a command window, making the location of launch.exe the current directory, then running .\launch.exe from the command line.

It may be failing before the GUI loads, and isn't getting far enough to trigger a Windows Event.

I would try double click Setup.exe in setup folder as well; if is same issue, then try update server, since 2016 does require Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 which requires Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2.

Progress.. some... lol.. So i launched the "Launch.exe" in a command Window.. and i do get the installation window open
Then i click on Install Sage 50 and i get the following error in the install Window " Installation Error: An Unexpected error has occurred curing installation. Click Try again to relaunch the installation"
Is there any way to see the Version of the Connection manager that is already installed?

2016.2 Connection Manager is v5.2 , you can click on tray icon to verify

The people in the office installed the new update and now they cant connect to the server.. they did the update before i did the update on the server.. now we are stuck :S

I tried to install using the Setup.exe.. but nothing happens as well..
and i did install .NET Framework 4.5.2 on the server .. but no SP2.. not enough space :(

The installation unpacks to the same folder structure as the (now outdated) CD installation.

Being tight for space, you could move the entire \SAGE folder, including previous installations to a memory stick or external HD and run it from there.

I've had Windows installation issues resolved by a double restart with no changes between - it makes certain that all restart updates are resolved and loaded, and I'm not stuck in a loop.

And there's always the possibility of malware interfering with installation. But 'horses, not zebras'.

I just confirmed i have NET Framework 4.5.2 installed on the server... Via the Reg..

a couple of times now.  I've seen some weird activity from desktops when the c: drive on a server runs out of space.

Try cleaning up the drive so there are a couple of gig available and then try installing.

I have 3 gigs available.. and i did other updates with less space..
I tried a few more things.. still no luck...

Can i ask what will it tell me if i install BizMan Reports 2.0 ?

BizMan Reports is a reporting tool that allows users to continue to use Crystal Reports with Sage 50. It will not help you in this case.

I'm not sure if this will help as it's a longshot but a while back I downloaded a program to install on my SBS2003 server. It would not install. I found I had to go to the server itself, right-click on the install program, and select Properties, there was an option to unblock or something like that near the typical read-only checkbox. Once I reset this I could install.

In regards to the 2016.3 upgrade (SA_20163CPUP1.exe)
File Properties warns that the upgrade executable is from a third party and there is an "Unblock" button there under the Read-only/Hidden/Advanced settings.

Clicking the Unlock button and OK'ing the properties allows the upgrade to run. When I open the file properties again the unlock options and the warning are now gone.
