Sage 50 (2015) on Windows 2008R2 Server - user licenses

Hello,

We are running Simply 2015 Premium, 2 users.

I just recently upgraded to Simply 2015 on Windows 2008R2 Terminal Server (cloud host), via the pushed upgrade (not CD).  After the upgrade, it appears that the Connection manager is "locking" up a license, preventing the second user from logging in at the same time.

I have tried to restart the Connection manager, and it appears to release the phantom user, but unless the original user does a File, Close, you cannot log into the same company concurrently.

I tried to reinstall Simply, and noticed that it wants to install First Step Accounting?  Also, there is no option to indicate it is a server install?

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

And the first user is definitely in 'multi-user' mode?

(from the Client program, File | Properties should show a list of logged in users, their login IDs, and the version number of the software.  In Single-User mode there is just a link to the .SAI data file location)

Yes, definitely multi user.  Also, the error is the generic licensing (too many users), not the "another user logged in".

The Connection Manager seems to be also the License Manager, so this might be better answered by Sage tech support.

(This is primarily a peer forum, while there are several moderators who work for Sage, I'm not one of them).

Also, since Microsoft changed their Tech-Net subscriptions, I haven't tested Sage's software on anything but Windows desktop OS.

Normally, all the users for a particular 'company file' show up in the File | Properties screen.   If there is only one 'Company File' in use, I don't see how it should cause a problem.
