After updating Sage 50 Premium Accounting from 2021.3 to 2022.0/2022.1, Sage no longer opens...

SOLVED

Hey Sage team, first time post here on these forums.

I have a computer that has Sage Premium Accounting 2021.3 installed on it and it works fine. It's on a fairly new desktop that is only a few months old. It's a Lenovo ThinkCentre M70s with an Intel Core i5-10400 2.9 GHz CPU with 8 GB RAM and Windows 10 Pro 21H2.

However, it will automatically ask us to update to 2022.1 every time we close the software, we close it and then it looks like it upgrades fine (albeit a fairly quick process), but then when you try to open it, the icon has a shield that asks if you want the following program to make changes to your computer. Then we click OK and nothing happens. Sage 2022 doesn't open, nothing. We checked the event viewer and found a .NET Runtime Error 1026 for application Sage50Accounting.exe and it was terminated due to an unhandled exception. Also found an Application Error event 1000 with the faulting application name Sage50Accounting.exe, faulting module name KERNELBASE.dll and exception code 0xe0434352. Plus a Windows error report log with event name CLR20r3 and the problem signature Sage50Accounting.exe. Also, of note, when we uninstall, it says there is no Sage or invalid Sage installed.

We have tried repairing and updating the .NET Framework. Deleting the downloaded files and recreating. Installed 2022.0 version of Sage 50. Ran system file check and DISM image repair, all have not resolved.

I'm wondering if the installation files are getting corrupted. The clients also contacted another accountant with experience in Sage and he said other people have had this issue, though it's unknown if they are resolved yet.

So, not really sure what's going on with it or what further steps we can do to try and fix it. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Jay
