Thanks all! Just wanted to add that to convert your older software's database to the newer format you'll need to install Sage 50 2015.

Once installed, see this article titled "How do I convert my Sage 50 data to a newer version". Below are the copy/pasted resolution steps:

• Converting to Sage 50 2016 or newer from a version of Simply Accounting / Sage 50 older than 2014? See Article How to convert from Sage 50 2013 or older to the latest version?

Before you begin:

1. Create a backup using How do I create a backup?
2. Go to File, Properties, and note the Location and Company File name
   • Version 2008 or higher - file type is .sai
   • Simply Accounting version 8.0 to 2007 - file type is .sdb
   • Simply Accounting version 7.0 or below, - file type is .asc
3. Turn off User Account Control (UAC) during the conversion process
   • You can find this option under Control Panel, User Accounts
4. Turn off any Antivirus, Firewall and Anti-Spyware during conversion process
5. Save the data on the local computer and run the Advanced Database Check, convert the data, then save the data back to the original location

To start the conversion:

1. Open the newest version of Sage 50.
2. If you get the Welcome Screen with several options:
   • Click Open the last company you worked on
   • Click OK and go to Step 6
3. If you get the Welcome Screen with several options, click Select an existing company, and click OK.
4. In the Open company window, change the Look in: field to the folder where your data is located.
5. Select your data filename and click OK.
6. Click Next several times to go through the Upgrade wizard, and then click Finish.
