Our charity currently has Sage 50 Pro with an annual subscription and our data currently is in 2020.1 format. We need to cut costs so want to go a perpetual version through Staples. Will that version update to 2020.1 format so we can use our current data?

Thanks for your question. Yes you can pick up a box with a perpetual license. No need to reinstall the software. You will have to call in to Sage 50 CA Customer Service at 1-888-222-8985 to register the new serial and or email [email protected] to make the request.
The subscribtion will need to be deactivated manually by a Sage employee in the backend (best to do this once your subscription has expired*). Your new activation code (based on the box's serial number) will also need to be manually generated. Once this is done, launch Sage 50 and go to the Help menu > then select Upgrade Your Sage 50 Product.
This launches the Product Information screen where to enter the new codes.
