Sage 50 2017.x expired; looking at Sage One?

Hello,

We've been using Sage 50 workstation for a few years now and the time has come to renew for another year at a cost of about $700. This is when I noticed that Sage offers a "Sage One" online product. I've searched some Sage sites and Knowledge base for an exact and current feature difference between "Sage 50 workstation" and "Sage One online" but I'm having difficulty finding an absolute answer.

I think the only add on feature that we'd need from "Sage One" is PayRoll and thus I think we'd need "Sage One Accounting". The annual costs would be $360/year rather than $700.

We only operate one company so don't need to have multiple company databases. Is migrating from a single copy of "Sage 50" to "Sage One Accounting" online a good course of action?

What's the learning curve like for "Sage One" online coming from a few years of using "Sage 50 workstation"?

Is there a upgrade path from "Sage 50" workstation such that we can import our "Sage 50" Company Database into "Sage One Online" and continue where we left off? It seems that a Sage product called "Sage 50C" has the ability to Transfer Data - "The initial connection wizard will pull list data from Sage 50 to Sage One"
Ref: sagecity.na.sage.com/.../sage-50-sage-50c-integrations-vs-sage-one-et-o365-q-amp-r

The same article goes on to say: "Advanced items such as inventory, project management, *payroll*, customer statement creation, financial statement creation functionality is (for now) only available in the Sage 50 desktop application"

Which is in direct contradiction to what's on www.sage.com/.../ and the "Integrated Payroll" feature of "Sage One Accounting" at $30/month.

We don't need any of those other mentioned features. Just payroll.

Any gotchas or things to watch out for?

Any answers, suggestions, or horror stories would be welcome.

Thanks,
Terry

    Did you find out anything?

I notice that Sage One is called Sage Business Cloud Accounting now. Payroll is "Available," but that means it's an extra. I wonder how much. And is there a feature comparison between this and Sage 50cloud Accounting, the awkward new name for the main product?
