Version Number for Sage 50 2018

Good Day,

I am trying to import my inventory and services in to Sage 50 2018.  When I try to import the completed template, I get the following error message:

Error importing records. The import file does not contain a valid version number.Error importing records. The import file does not contain a valid version number.

My problem is that I do not know / cannot find the correct version number to use.  I have tried 25001, which seems like the next logical number, it does not work.  Does anyone know what the correct version number for 2018 is?  Or am I using the wrong template?  Or something else?

Thank you,

Angela

    Hi Angela

Here is a screen shot of the Excel CSV file I was able to import into Sage 50 Canadian 2018 with no problem:

    I used version number 25001.

I always export from Sage an one line inventory sample and then use it as my template for the inventory I am going to import. I usually have the best success than trying to guess why the version number I have in the upper corner is not working even though it is the same as the tech articles or others tell me to use.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Jo Anne,

Thank you!  Where are you downloading the template from?  I thought that is what I was doing, but I would like to try starting fresh.

    Thank you,

    Angela

    Hi Angela

From the Sage 50 home window menu bar choose File>Import/Export>Export Records and the following dialog box will open

And you can continue from there. Make sure you name the file as shown in the next dialog box... note the extension is .csv
