Problem exporting PDF reports

I have a client who is suddenly having problems exporting reports as PDF since he upgraded to Sage 50 2014 (latest version).

When he exports as a PDF, he gets the error:

"Error opening this file for exporting check to see if any other application is using this file."

He can export as .TXT or .XLS with no problems.

How do I fix this?

Thanks,

Thane

looks like the pdf file is opened - can you export the report to a different pdf name ?

you may not see the open pdf file, but if you looks at tasks, there may be a running adobe task that has opened the file

It doesn't matter where I save the file or what I name it, I get the same error.

I removed and reinstalled Adobe Reader with no change.  Only Adobe products are Reader and Flash.

In addition to the technical document suggestions, if those don't work I would suggest the usual PC 'first aid' things.

Make sure the company data is backed up.

Remove and re-install the latest Sage 50 that was installed. This happened suddenly, after the software was installed, so it was more likely an installation failure than anything else.

Run an antivirus scan, check the anti-malware settings since they could interfere.

Power it completely off and back on again,

Run disk cleanup to get rid of any temporary files on the workstation. 'Error opening this file for exporting could refer to the temporary file that is generated when a report is run. Make sure the user has full rights to the 'temp' location as well. That said, if the other export types work, the Sage 50 software can certainly read the temporary file.

Check the health of the hard disk. (SMART report)
