Online Edition of Sage 50 CA

Hi there!

As all of you are probably aware that QuickBooks has a desktop edition as well as a subscription based online edition. I am just curious if having an online version is coming? I have been using Simply Accounting since the days of when it was called Bedford Accounting however I have to run it on a Virtual Machine as I use a Mac. It would be good if Sage could follow in the footsteps of Intuit with an online version. Does anybody know if this is in the roadmap?

Regards,
Trevor

    Hi Trevor S.

Sage does have an option for Mac users in Canada. On October 1st we launched Sage One! It's a cloud based solution for invoicing, projects, accounting and collaboration. You can get started today with a free 15 day trial at www.SageOne.ca. If you like it, it's only $24/month.

You can contact Sage One by 800-873-7282 for more information.

    Hope this helps.

Hi Keith. Thank you for your reply. I am currently using the Quantum edition of Sage 50 CA as I have a medium sized service business company with semi-complex accounting that I am sure SageOne will not handle (customer retainers, intercompany transactions, payroll etc). My original post was an inquiry as to whether Sage has plans in the future to move the full accounting software to the web as Intuit has done with QuickBooks.

    Hi Trevor S.

    Thank you for your inquiry.

Up to this point, we still have not heard of any infomraton about moving Sage 50 to the web.

As an alternative solution, you can find a 3rd party hosting provider to host both the data and the software on a remote server so you can access it anywhere, any time with no operating system limitation.

You can find Sage 50 hosting providers from the link below and contact them for more informtion if you are interested.
