Sage shared file (cloud) multiple user form issue

We just started to use the shared file feature as we have 2 locations (different buildings) for 2 different computers. We have set everything up for each location, but discovered today that the forms we have designed in Sage do not 'travel' with the file & the path needs to be rest each time a different location/ computer uses the shared file.

There must be a better way? Is there a solution for this?

Thank you,

Melanie

  • The default location where Sage saves forms is on C: with the program.  My personal preference, which would solve your problem, is to save the files in the .saj folder which contains the company data.  This is simple to do - on the machine that has the correct form version, open up the form maintenance screen, and then choose 'save as' and save it into the .saj folder.  Then, on the other machine, simply choose a custom form and browse to the copy in the .saj folder.

Thanks! - we ended up doing an experiment this weekend with creating a 'forms' folder on C on each computer for the user defined forms & it seems to be working. I did get a response back from Sage that a level 2 help desk person could assist with this. We will see how it goes. It's a weird issue when the forms could be embedded into the file so they always travel with it.
