How do I document a loan advance to an employee.
I see the Loan or advance in the employee set up ledger, but when I go to the employees payroll form, there is no place to document the loan?

When you open Paycheques and select an employee, do you not see the Loans line and the Advances line at the right side of the screen below the dates?

Under Setup, Settings, Payroll, Linked Accounts, Incomes do you have an account linked for Advances and Loans? If not, this is likely the problem. The program will not allow you to use a field in payroll without knowing where to put the money.
Set up an Asset account to use for the advances if you don't already have one, then link it here and you should be able to see them in the Paycheques data entry screen.
BINGO! Thanks so much, that was it exactly. I had a GL account, but you are right, it was not linked in payroll.
