  • I have not seen this problem for a number of years. Which version of Sage 50 are you running on what hardware?

Hi Alwyn.  I have sage 50 pro.  It is from 2015, so I know it's old.  I'm thinking there was an update that made the program do this.  On January 1st this year I was not able to put the date in quickly, e.g. 020321 and have it automatically change to 02/03/21  now I have to enter it in full e.g. 02/03/2021.  That was the first thing that made me think my Sage is outdated.  My hardware is Windows 10 home, system type 64 bit.  Does that help?  Many thanks for any help you can give me and for responding to my question.  Angela.

Hi again Alwyn.  I'm not great with computers and didn't understand what you meant by hardware.  Here is the hardware for my computer:  AM DFX - 8320 - Eight Core Processor 3.50 ghz.  and I have 89 b ram.  Hope that helps.  Angela.

As it turned out your first response answered the necessary information. The 2015 version of Sage 50 was not tested for use on Windows 10. This may be what is causing the black outs on some of the boxes. I don't specifically remember what the full cause of the problem was or what the work around was back in 2015. I remember that I did not run into the problem too often but when I did a reboot would solve the problem for a few more entries and then it would return. I also seem to remember that the information was actually in the boxes correctly and once posted it showed properly in the reports. All of this, however, is in the past and it would seem that your particular configuration is not working with the older program.

Hi again, Alwyn.  This problem only started a few days ago and I guess it's time for me to upgrade/update to a newer version of Sage 50.  I've had my son-in-law who's a computer wizard try to figure it out as well.  So I've wasted way too much time trying to figure out this problem.  Time to move on.  Thank you for reaching out with your information.  I appreciate it so much,  Take care, Angela.
